Harman offers a range of technical services, including full-service installa-tions, engine-management software tuning and dyno services on its Dynojet 424X AWD dyno.

The baseline runs indicated peaks of 134whp and 142 lb-ft of torque. The later runs with the EuroCode kit peaked at 205 and 242, respectively. Bottom Line
The Volkswagen/Audi 1.8T is a tuner's engine that begs to be boosted. While chip tuning is a perfect first step, the key to peak horsepower and torque is pumping more air into the engine with a larger turbo, cooling the air with a large, exposed intercooler, giving adequate fuel, matching the ECU to a new set of parameters and evacuating the spent gases to repeat the cycle over again.

EuroCode has assembled its own rendition of a K04 conversion using OEM-proven technology while soliciting components and software from competent partners. Up to 70 more horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque can be yours in about six hours when completed by a capable wrench.

How Much?
The EuroCode Tuning VAG 1.8T Tuning Program costs $1,995 for the KO4 kit, which includes turbo, fuel injector, spark plugs, hardware and gaskets, and Revo software. The FMIC is $895, or the KO4 kit with intercooler is $2,595.
