The theme for this years Greater L.A. Auto Show was California Dreamin 2000, and in the words of the organizers, it celebrates the global impact of Californias influence on automobile design and development. There were some pretty exciting MAXed concepts, like RMMs Ultimate Celica, the Honda Spocket, VWs funky Beetle Dune concept, and Eibachs 00 MAXima.
The L.A. show also housed some impressive World and North American production debuts, including the much- anticipated 01 Lexus IS 300, Acuras 01 CL, Audis 01 TT Roadster, BMWs 2001 Z8 and 3-Series sport wagon, and the magnificent 00 Porsche 911 Turbo.
But what really drew the MAX staff to this show was the Performance Products and Accessories pavilion in Kentia Hall. Companies like Alpine, Arelli, Armor All, Brabus, CEC, Globe Tire & Motorsports, Kaminari, Meguiars, MotoRex, PIAA, Sprewell Racing, Tokico, Wheel Power, Wheel Warehouse, and more were in the mix, showing off their hardware for the massive crowds.
