October 2009 Event Calendar

Now in October, our 2009 calendar is shrinking as we say the final goodbyes to this year's show and race season. However, there are a handful of events still on the agenda, including H2O International taking place on the last weekend of September, as well as our annual Super Lap Battle in November. If you're in the tuning industry, there's also the big SEMA convention coming as well.

If you're organizing an event, remember to email the appropriate information to eurotuner@sorc.com so you can get on our calendar. It takes about three months for your listing to appear in the mag, so plan ahead (although the online list is updated weekly).

H20 International
By the time you read this, thousands of people will be getting their Volkswagen or Audi ready for one of the most raved-about shows to hit the States. H2O International returns to Ocean City, MD on the weekend of September 26-27. More vendors are expected to attend this year, including NGP Racing, Black Forest Industries, Induktion Motorsports and Unitronic. If that's not enough, find more than 1000 cars in the showgrounds from old- to new-school.

Super Lap Battle
If you're unfamiliar with Super Lap Battle, it's time to brush up on your motorsport knowledge. It's a race we hold every year with our sister mags Super Street, Modified and Import Tuner. Basically, you have a full day to set the best possible lap time. Every year, the finals are held at Buttonwillow Raceway in California, where Japanese and European imports collide for a day of drama and excitement.

For the past two years, the European competitors have fallen short of victory after the rules were changed to outlaw purpose-built racecars without VIN numbers. Since then, Japanese imports have dominated the event with cars such as the Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishi Evo. This November, we hope to reverse the trend.
