Letter of the Month
Oops
I guess we shouldn't have waited!
Kaylan Marie
Seattle, WA

Commiserations to Kaylan for the tragedy that occured. If you remember back to our "Ladies issue" et 9/08, her '97 Saab 9000 Aero was our Ride of the Month. We had intended to feature it, but she wanted to finish more mods. As it stood, the shell had been converted to a three-door and the engine was putting out around 500whp. Sadly, the project came to this terrible end before we could feature it. However, for being selected as our Letter of the Month, we're sending Kaylan a T-shirt from Dub Korps. Check out the website at www.dubkorps.com and choose any of the ultra-cool designs, which include plenty of retro-style VAG-themed goodness.

Hunted
Your feature on Hunter Wright's 325i (et 1/09) was so weak! So many other cars are modded better than that. Take mine, for example: simple, tasteful, non-boyracer and, most important, it has substance.

His car and bio are jokes. Having rich parents should get some air-time in his piece. Do what I did to my '06 330i (above) with a family and a house. Mine isn't the best by any means, but it's better than his. You're dreaming, and your rag has zero street cred.

It's not about the most aggressive car. In fact, I think overdone cars are about bragging rights rather than outright function. Street cars that look like they belong on the track or can fly are jokes in my opinion. I respect powerful, tasteful and purposeful cars.

I know Hunter and I don't dislike him. Yes, my car doesn't have a CF vented hood, body kit or three-piece chrome-lipped rims for a reason. I don't have an exhaust to make my car sound faster than it is. I'm sure the 4-5hp isn't going to blow away any street racer.

I used to have a fully modded '99 B6 with built motor, Recaros, etc. I guess it was pretty cool when I was a kid, although I look back now and shake my head.

A lot of my current upgrades make this 330i better, yet it's still a stealth family bucket. So go ahead and praise a kid who's parent's bought him a base 325i. He's a car nut for replacing sucky non-sport seats with Recaros that look out of place in his car. He replaced the sucky stock steering wheel with one that came on a more expensive model. He also knew about a Euro HID lamp conversion to replace his stock Halogens. Again, if you think his car warrants the space you gave him, then good for him and your magazine/website.

My spec includes BlackLine tail lights, Osram bulbs, Brex white rings, LED markers, painted OEM CF splitter, M Sport wheel, shift knob and e-brake, H&R springs, Koni dampers, Eibach 5mm rear spacers and 19" Volk CE28N wheels.

In et 5/09 I saw that a photograph I took of Eric Carpenter's Audi A4 was chosen as Ride of the Month. I was wondering if you could give me credit as the photographer (www.khphotography3.com)? I love the magazine, keep up the great work.

I'm a student photographer who covered Bimmerfest 2009 and I really want to get my work out there. So could you please publish this photo?(joshphotography.blogspot.com)

Man Bag
A part of the aviation life support course during my Blackhawk flight training involved a sewing course. The idea was to be able to repair our flight suit, raft or perhaps fashion an emergency loin cloth in the event of a crash-landing. We were given a needle, thread, cloth and spent a wonderful afternoon sewing. Most students decided to create a tool pouch but I was a little more adventurous and created this delightful purse for a "friend". I'd seen lots of military-inspired fashions in the stores so I'm sure "she" will get as much pleasure from using it as I did from making it.

We don't even know where to start with how many forms of "wrong" this is. Hopefully the army can turn you back into the honed killing machine you once claimed to be...

Screwed
In et 5/09 you stated that George Lioudis' BMW 328i engine had a Rotrex twin-screw C38-71 supercharger fitted. However, I see that Rotrex lists this part as a centrifugal-type supercharger. So I was wondering if they developed twin-screw types in the past?Pete JokerEdmonton, Canada

You're correct. The car had an Autorotor twin-screw blower not a Rotrex, as you point out.
