2010 Audi S5 Sportback - Web Exclusive

Audi S5 Sportback Front View

Unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show will be the new S5 Sportback, which will sit at the pinnacle of the new Sportback model line and between the S4 sedan and S5 coupe. The five-door coup is propelled by a three-liter V6 with a mechanical compressor, identical to the engine used in the S4 sedan.

With a displacement of 2995cc, the turbo engine delivers 333hp and 324.53 lb-ft of torque between 2900 and 5300rpm. The S5 Sportback sprints from 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds; its top speed of 155mph is electronically limited. Its combined economy figure of 29.1mpg is the best in this power-output category.

The drivetrain of the Audi S5 Sportback is a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel drive are standard equipment. Optionally, this combination can be further enhanced with a sport differential, which variably distributes power to the rear axle between the rear wheels.

This new "top model" naturally features sports suspension and rides on 18-inch wheels fitted with 245/40 tires; black brake calipers bear S5 emblems at the front. Speed-dependent servotronic steering is also standard.
