Brakes
StopTech stage 2 kit comprising slotted Powerslot rotors, Axxis ULT Ceramic pads, StopTech braided lines and Motul DOT4 fluid. We're only fitting pads and rotors here, but will add fluid and lines later. This is the perfect kit for replacing and upgrading worn stock parts and retails for $799.
Rear
Starting at the rear, the e-brake cable had been unclipped and the caliper removed earlier to change the suspension. So the next step was to remove the caliper carrier from the wheel hub by undoing the two 8mm allen bolts. There's limited clearance so take care. Nothing holds the rotor in place except rust. Be careful it doesn't fall on your toes but hit it with a mallet to loosen it from the hub. Then take a wire brush to the hub so the new rotor can sit flush
When fitting the new 9.6" (245mm) rotor, they're marked L and R for each side of the car to ensure the grooves turn the right way. You can use a wheel nut to secure the rotor to the hub while the caliper carrier is refitted. Fit the pads into the carrier and place the caliper over then
Since your old pads were worn, the caliper piston will need to be pushed back. For this you'll need a tool that pushes and turns the piston. Once done, bolt the caliper to its carrier with two 13mm bolts. Then refit the e-brake cable into its bracket
Front
On the front, remove the clip from the caliper keeping the pads under tension. Then disconnect the pad wear sensor from the back. You can now undo the two 7mm allen bolts holding the caliper on. The pads will then come out
Remove the caliper carrier by undoing two 21mm bolts. This frees the rotor which should be removed
Fit the 11.3" (288mm) front rotor, again noting the L or R side stamped on the face. Secure the rotor with a wheel nut while you refit the carrier
Push back the caliper piston with a different tool (the front one doesn't need to be turned and pushed) but check the brake fluid level. If the fluid was topped up when the pads were worn, pushing back the pistons will cause the fluid to overflow
The spring clip on the back of one of the front brake pads fits inside the caliper piston. The other pad fits inside the carrier. With the pads installed, bolt the caliper to the carrier and replace the spring clip to hold the pads in place. Then connect the pad wear sensor
Exhaust
Techtonics Tuning stainless steel cat-back exhaust system that bolts to the stock downpipe. System comes in two pieces, with the rear section split into two Borla mufflers with chromed round tailpipes. This systems fits easily, sounds deeper but isn't excessively loud and retails for $875.
